PSA removed from 26 including former president of Kashmir Bar, may be released today

The state government on Friday removed PSA from 26 people, including a former MLA, as part of a confidence-building move by resuming democratic and political activities in the Valley.

He can be released from jail on Saturday as many have been kept in jails of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan outside the state. He was arrested in the PSA from August 5 after Article 370 was removed.

Those who have been removed from PSA include Nazir Ahmed Ronga, former president of the Kashmir Bar Association. Along with this, 11 people from North Kashmir, 14 from South Kashmir are also in this list.

According to the order issued by the government, Rauf Ahmed Dar, Abdul Salam Rathar, Tanveer Ahmed Bhat, Mohammad Umar Dar, Mudassir Ahmed Tantray, Rameez Ahmed Hazam, Mohammad Imran Dar, Muzaffar Ahmed Dar, Mohammad Maqbool Yattu, Shaukat Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Arif Lone, Ishfaq Ahmed Ganei, Mudassir Maqbool Teli, Shabbir Ahmed Bhat, Nawaz Ahmed Haru, Saddam Hussein Haru, Rafiq Ahmed Bhat, Shabbir Ahmed Lone, Fayyaz Ahmed Naiku, Shabbir Ahmed Wani, Umar Gul, PSA has been removed from Adil Ahmed Lone, Shahnawaz Ahmed Dar, Zahoor Ahmed Mir, Javed Kalas.

It may be noted that the High Court has abolished the PSA imposed on some people. Former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah has also been placed under house arrest under the PSA since 17 September.
