Thick fog in Delhi, UP, Punjab, Haryana for three days: Meteorological Department.

Fear of frost in some areas of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. Western disturbance will be active once again from 30 December.

The entire north India including the capital Delhi and NCR is in the grip of severe cold. Relief from weather patterns is not expected until the arrival of the new year. The Meteorological Department says that in the coming days, there will be dense fog in many parts of North India including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and Rajasthan. During this period, cold wave, rain and hail are also expected in many areas.

On the other hand, Friday night in Delhi was the coldest in this season. Lodhi Road was the coldest with a minimum temperature of 1.7 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at 14.4 degrees Celsius, 6 degrees below normal. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be no major upsurge in the temperature for the next two days.

In the next three days, there may be dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan and UP and in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim and Odisha for two days and North East India for the next five days. Western disturbance will be active again from 30 December.

Due to this, there is a possibility of hail in some areas of northwest and central India between 31 December and 1 January. In Churu, mercury reached below the freezing point on Friday (-0.6 degrees) , water of Dal Lake freezes . Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir recorded a mercury of -12 degrees.

Temperatures in Delhi at 2.4 degrees

According to the India Meteorological Department, the temperature in Delhi was recorded at 2.4 degrees Celsius at 06:10 on Saturday. Earlier on Friday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 4.2. Most places in Delhi have a 12-day chill winter. The 118-year record for winter may be broken.
