May 30, 2025: IPL 2025 Eliminator Match, GT vs MI Highlights:
The Gujarat Titans fell to the Mumbai Indians by 20 runs in Friday's Indian Premier League 2025 Eliminator in Mullanpur, despite the valiant efforts of Sai Sudharsan, who hit 80 runs off of 49 balls. Titans were able to battle throughout the chase of 228 runs, but ultimately failed to cross the finish line.
Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, had previously won the toss and chosen to bat first. After being dropped a few times, Rohit Sharma scored 81 runs off of 50 balls to help Mumbai reach 228/5 in the first innings. With two wickets, Sai Kishore was the Titans' best bowler.
As a result, Mumbai advances to the next round and will play Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 on Sunday in Ahmedabad, eliminating Titans from the competition.
Gujarat, who have advanced to two finals since their IPL debut in 2022, will present a formidable opponent for the five-time champion Mumbai. The key targets will be GT captain Gill and MI's batting mainstay Suryakumar Yadav. Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj of Gujarat will be an equal match for Mumbai's bowling tandem of Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah.
The last over that Ashwani Kumar and Gleeson played was superb. After guaranteeing that Titans required 21 runs from the final three balls with three solid deliveries, Gleeson walked back to receive medical attention. Ashwani then entered, picked up a wicket, and surrendered nothing in the following three deliveries. The Titans had a successful campaign, but as it neared the finish, it faltered. They will take note of this and work to improve. According to Mumbai, they keep getting better and better. Consider Sudharsan, who performed outstanding that evening but was unable to lead his team home. Folks, that is all we have to say for today. Please come to the next qualifier on Sunday.
