During his visit under the "Chalo Chamba" campaign, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan praised the picturesque splendor and grassroots tourist initiatives of Mystic village and Khajjiar, comparing them to Switzerland. He called the area's responsible and community-based tourism approach an example for the rest of the nation.
Paswan met with members of the Mystic village tourism development committee, which is made up of people from nine neighboring villages who are collaborating to create a sustainable tourism ecosystem. He was warmly received by the villagers. He said, "This concept of community-led tourism empowers youth and encourages self-reliance," and praised the effort for tying tourism to local livelihoods.
The minister also emphasized the importance of discovering India's lesser-known locations and praised the creative work of Not On Map, an organization assisting in the growth of Mystic Village. He pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of highlighting the nation's undiscovered tourism treasures is in line with the "Chalo Chamba" campaign.
Local issues over ambulance services and road infrastructure were raised by residents, and the minister promised that they would be given the attention they needed.
Local artists gave lively cultural performances throughout the visit as well. Paswan commended their skill and emphasized the value of using tourism to preserve and advance local culture.

With assistance from Not On Map and ACT, local self-help groups like Gabdika and Pehchaan are instrumental in the success of Mystic Village, the first tribally directed tourism model in the area. A vision of responsible tourism based on sustainable development and cultural preservation is being promoted by these organizations.

Mystic village has won numerous accolades for its innovative efforts and remains a shining example of rural tourism success in India, according to Manuj Sharma, co-founder of Not On Map.
