India's recently designated lead trainer Gautam Gambhir on Monday proclaimed that his much discussed relationship with batting pillar Virat Kohli "is among us and not really for TRPs".

Gambhir and Kohli had not been awesome of companions, something which was clear from the various showdowns between the two in the IPL.

In any case, the pair will currently be cooperating beginning with the T20 and ODI visit through Sri Lanka from July 27.

"My relationship with Virat Kohli is among us and not really for TRP," Gambhir said.

With regards to Kohli, Gambhir added, "We have had heaps of conversations and everybody has the right battle for their shirt." With the takeoff of seniors Rohit Sharma and Kohli from the T20 Worldwide scene, responsibility the board of somebody like Jasprit Bumrah accepts more prominent importance, Gambhir said.

Both Rohit and Kohli declared their retirement from the briefest organization after India's title win in the T20 World Cup a month ago.

"Responsibility for somebody like Jasprit Bumrah is significant.
