After their first loss of the Lionel Messi era, Inter Miami will look to bounce back against Toronto FC in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Wednesday.
Miami (8-15-4, 28 points) suffered a 5-2 road loss at Atlanta United on Saturday when Messi and Jordi Alba were out for coach Tata Martino with muscle fatigue.

The Herons are 8-1-4 since Messi joined the club in July. Eight of those matches (5-0-3) were held outside the regular season, in the League Cup and US Open Cup tournaments.
It is not yet known whether Messi or Alba will be available on Wednesday, although both trained fully on Tuesday. With two regular-season games scheduled before playing Miami in the US Open final on Sept. 27, Messi and/or Alba may get more time to recover. Inter Miami is 14th in the Eastern Conference, seven points behind ninth-place DC United and the final playoff spot in the East.
"Our decisions are based on what we have in the next few days because we're chasing the playoffs, but we also have a game on the 27th and that's... for the championship," Martino said, adding. in the regular season, "We will not get our hopes up, we will focus on finishing 27th." Toronto FC (4-14-10, 22 points) is the only seed behind Miami in the East and lost 2-1 at home against the Vancouver Whitecaps last Saturday.
Deandre Kerr scored for Toronto, tying him for the team lead with five this season. In an overall disappointing season for Toronto FC, interim head coach Terry Dunfield pointed to the development of less experienced players like Kerr. “There are a lot of opportunities for younger players,” Dunfield said. "When they look back on this season, not only did they have a lot of big games, but I would say they mostly ... grew throughout the year."

Toronto FC is the only team in MLS with an undefeated away record this season (0-9-4).
