Catalina Usme's second-half goal gave Colombia a 1-0 win over Jamaica today and sent the South Americans into their first Women's World Cup quarter-final.
The captain's 51st-minute strike sent Colombian fans into a frenzy at Melbourne's rectangular stadium and ensured the final American team of the tournament would battle England for a place in the last four.
Catalina Usme scored the winner against Jamaica.
"We represent the entire South American continent," said Colombia coach Nelson Abadia. "This (result) has a very special meaning. When we got to the World Cup, the first thing I said to my team was, "We're not just here to hang out, we want to make history."

Ambitious and physical clash until halftime burst into life after the success of Usme when both teams attacked with ferocity in the two underdogs of the tournament.

The Jamaican Reggae Girls had chances to equalize but bowed out in front of a crowd of 27,706 after reaching the knockout stage for the first time in their second World Cup.
Morocco's dream run is over

Adelaide: Eugenie Le Sommer led France to a 4-0 win over debutants Morocco in their last 16 appearances and a third straight quarter-final.
Kadidiatou Dian's fourth goal of the tournament, a 15th-minute header, sparked an eight-minute three-goal run for Les Bleues, with Kenza Dal and Le Sommer also netting at the Hindmarsh Stadium to end the North African side's fairytale run.
