Los Angeles: Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie has endorsed the women-led Afghan film Hava, Maryam, and Ayesha.
Directed by first-timer Sahraa Karim, the film tells the story of the lives of three Afghan women from different social backgrounds and the difficult choices they have to make.
"Every film made in Afghanistan is a victory for the resistance," Jolie said.
"At a time when the future of Afghanistan hangs in the balance, this reminds us of all that is at stake for the millions of Afghan women who deserve the freedom, independence, and security to make their own choices - in their homes and in their societies. Healthy. ," she added.
The film was made entirely with a local Afghan cast and crew.
