Bastille Day: Prime Minister Modi to be the guest of honor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to be the guest of honor at France's traditional military cortege, held during Bastille Day on July 14.

As per a statement published by the French Presidency on Friday," An Indian fortified forces contingent will take part in the cortege alongside French forces".
PM Modi's visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of the" strategic alliance" between France and India.

After getting an invite as the Guest of Honour at the Bastille Day Parade, PM Narendra Modi is set to visit France on July 13- 14. This marks a truly rare occasion as France isn't known for inviting foreign dignitaries yearly to the Bastille Day Parade.

This historic visit will also allow joint initiatives to take on big challenges of our time, such as loss of biodiversity, climate change, and achieving sustainable development targets, according to the French presidency.
