The Indian cricket board (BCCI) is set to shift Rishabh Pant from Dehradun to Mumbai where the wicketkeeper-batter will continue treatment for multiple injuries, including a ligament tear, he suffered from a car accident on December 30. Pant is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dehradun. The BCCI panel doctors will go through the medical reports and assess the situation and the board may also consider moving the treatment overseas, preferably to London. Rishabh Pant rammed his luxury car into a divider in the wee hours of Friday after which the car was engulfed in flames. Pant had to break the windshield to jump out of the car after the crash on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Pant was driving alone to his home in Roorkee when he suffered a car accident. Pant is stable and responding well to treatment at the private hospital in Dehradun. The cricketer had suffered multiple injuries, including two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and suffered abrasion injuries on his back. The BCCI was looking to handle the treatment for ligament tear and the India cricketer's recovery will be supervised by the board. Pant is set to be ruled out of competitive action at least for a couple of months. The India star is likely to miss the Border-Gavaskar Trophy - a 4-Test series against Australia in February-March and is doubtful for IPL 2023. The Indian team, ahead of Tuesday's T20I against Sri Lanka in Mumbai, sent their best wishes to Pant. The BCCI posted a video of Rahul Dravid and the rest of the team sending their prayers, wishing Pant a speedy recovery. Notably, Pant met his rescuers, two locals, at the hospital on Monday. Rajat and Nishu, the two locals, were at the spot during the car carwash and they rushed to Pant's rescue and dragged him out of his Mercedes. Later on, bus driver Sushil Kumar arrived at the scene and arranged for an ambulance and called the police.
