With a strong push coming from models like Kushaq and Slavia, Skoda Auto India clocked its best-ever performance during a calendar year (CY) with domestic wholesale despatches of 53,721 units in 2022. In CY22, Skoda's volumes were 125.17% higher than 23,858 units sold in CY21. The company closed the year with sales of 4,788 units in December, logging a growth of 48.05% over 3,234 units despatched in the year-ago month. The industry-wide domestic passenger vehicle (PV) wholesales increased 23.07% to 3,793,000 units in CY22 from 3,082,000 units in CY21. Skoda Auto India brand director Petr Solc said that as a team, our focus was to close CY22 on a high note, and we are all proud of achieving our ambition. "CY22 will always stand as an unforgettable year for us. We doubled our sales over the previous year, we hit monthly and quarterly sales records, we expanded our network with more touchpoints and being closer to our customers, our Slavia sedan has provided a massive impetus to the premium mid-size sedan category and, the Kushaq SUV has got a full 5-stars in the latest Global NCAP crash tests and is officially India's safest car". "The credit for these achievements goes out to our teams, our dealer partners and above all to our fans and customers whose love and faith in brand Skoda has enabled this success and our biggest year yet". Introduced under the Volkswagen Group's India 2.0 project, Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia are based on the India-specific MQB-AO-IN platform. The Volkswagen Group has invested 1 billion euros in the India 2.0 project. Apart from Kushaq and Slavia, Skoda also sells Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq. The company has close to 240 customer touchpoints in more than 130 cities across the country. While Skoda Kushaq is priced between Rs 11.59 lakh and Rs 19.69 lakh (ex-showroom), Skoda Slavia sits in the price range of Rs 11.29 lakh to Rs 18.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Skoda Octavia price starts at Rs 27.35 lakh and goes up to Rs 30.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Skoda Superb comes in the price bracket of Rs 34.19 lakh to Rs 37.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Skoda Kodiaq can be had in the price range of Rs 37.49 lakh to Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
