Having found their footing, England are building on their solid start against India, on Day 1 of the first Test match, in Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium. The visitors put in a good start, but lost two quick wickets before Lunch break.

Joe Root and Dominic Sibley have anchored England's innings and are currently unbeaten. Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Rory Burns and Jasprit Bumrah took the wicket of Daniel Lawrence. The Game is being played behind closed doors due to restrictions imposed as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.
