If you really dig artsy sculptures, there is no need of visiting art galleries if you happen to be in Fort Lauderdale city of Florida, USAthere is one great giant-sized statue installed to amaze you right on a busy walkway.

Situated outside the residential area of Las Olas, the sculpture named Thrive, a public art installation, depicts the giant head and torso of a woman, and her chest opens up to give way to a fern-covered tunnel that onlookers can walk through.

According to the latest reports, Thrive is the brainchild of artist Daniel Popper. Made on site, the sculpture is eight meters-tall and 14 tonnes in weight. It has been made using concrete as well as steel and glass fibres. The makers have used 3D modelling and giant CNC machines to make the innovative sculpture.

Cape Town-based Daniel Popper has been a pro at making interactive artworks such as Thrive. His official webpage says that Daniel is popular around the world for his larger-than-life sculptures, and eye-catching public art installations. So much so, his creations have found space and appreciation at music festivals and important events. They have found alliance with other artists, artisans and technicians to include electronic music, projection mapping and LED lighting.
