First passenger train reaches Punjab; these special trains resume as well

The railways have restored passenger services of the New Delhi-Una Janshatabdi Express for Punjab after about two months. The train departed from Delhi on November 23 afternoon, with 559 passengers on board.

Train services in Punjab were halted on September 24, following the farmers� protests against the new farm bill.

According to the reports, the North Central Railway will restore operations of six trains, while Northern Railway will soon resume services of 25 trains.

In a press release, the Western Railway (WR) has recently announced that it had resumed 11 outstation trains, which were either short-terminated or short-originated, or cancelled due to the strife in Punjab.

Reportedly, services of Jammu Tawi Bandra Terminus Special train, Bandra Terminus Jammu Tawi Special train, Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra Dr. Ambedkar Nagar Special train and Dr. Ambedkar Nagar Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra Special train has also been restored.

On the other hand, the short-terminated or short-originated trains that have been restored now are special trains between Amritsar- Bandra Terminus, Bandra Terminus - Amritsar special clone train, Mumbai Central- Amritsar, Bandra Terminus - Amritsar, Jammu Tawi Bandra Terminus parcel special train, and Bandra Terminus Jammu Tawi parcel special train.
