DV Batra passes away

JAMMU: Dharam Vir Batra, the Chairman of Batra Group of Companies and third son of Late Aishi Ram Batra, a renowned businessman and philanthropist passed away in Union Capital. He was 93 and is survived by 3 sons - Davinder Batra, Narinder Batra and Hemant Batra and two daughters- Puja Bhassin and Raj Rani Sehgal besides other family members. Dharam Vir Batra was the son of Ch Aishi Ram Batra who established the Batra Group in 1911.

He had two Brothers AL Batra and Late AP Batra and one sister. He was the acting Chairman of Batra Group and President Acharya Shri Chandra College of Medical Sciences and Hospital. In 1996, J&K Govt awarded him the prestigious Gold Medal at a special function presided over by the Governor. He was also the Founder and Trustee of Sh Aishi Ram Batra Public Charitable Trust, which is operating the Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre in New Delhi and a Dharamshalla in Haridwar. He was also vice president of Shri Chander Chinar Bada Akhada Udasin Society.
