Airtel leads in video experience, download speed; Jio in 4G availability

Bharti Airtel swept four awards in Video Experience, Games Experience, Voice App Experience and Download Speed Experience in Open Signal's (mobile analytics company) latest Mobile Network Experience Report 2020. Its close rival Reliance Jio retained its grip on two awards, namely 4G Availability and 4G Coverage Experience while Vodafone Idea won the Upload Speed Experience award. Airtel gained top spot with a score of 55.6 out of 100 in Games Experience award, which analyses how the multi-layer mobile Games Experience is affected by mobile network conditions. The newly merged Vodafone-Idea - Vi won second place with 55.2 points. In the Video Experience award, Airtel won for the fourth time in a row and this time around it was the only operator to place in the Good (55-65) category for this measure of the mobile experience. Vi gained the second spot and Jio, BSNL third, fourth respectively. Airtel also secured the top position in the Voice App Experience award with a score of 75.5 out of 100. Vi gained the second spot with 74.4 points and BSNL fell to the last. Airtel continued its lead in the Download Speed Experience award as well for the sixth report in a row with a score of 10.4 Mbps. However, its lead is said to have shrunk with 0.3 Mbps (3.5%) separating it from second-placed Vi. BSNL�s Download Speed Experience score fell by 0.2 Mbps compared to Open Signal's last report. But, when it comes to 4G availability and 4G Coverage Experience, Jio continues to lead. Airtel saw its score increase by 1.1 percentage points.
