While this may sound absolutely absurd, it does make sense if you think about it. The bathroom is the one place you find some amount of peace and can spare a few minutes to give your body a quick stretch or workout. Since most people shower as the first thing in the morning, it only makes sense to fit exercise in your routine at that time. Here are 5 exercises you can safely do in the shower.

1. Neck rotations As we sit all day on our work desk or worse the couch or the bed, it is our neck, shoulder and back that takes the worst hit. It is important to move these muscles to avoid soreness and pain. Rotate your neck ten times clockwise, and repeat anti-clockwise while you wait for the leave-in hair conditioner to do its magic on your hair.
2. Pull-ups While you may need to make a small installation in your shower, you can add a pull-up rod in there to help you do this exercise. Your shower can almost act as a mini-gym, especially if you have restricted space in the house. Use the rod to do pull-ups and see your core and arms strengthen over time.
3. Squats Squats are an exercise that can be performed anywhere and require no equipment for the basic ones. You can do this exercise as you let the hot water pour over your body and relax your muscles.
4. One-leg stand This exercise can help improve balance and strengthen your core. Stand on one leg for as long as you can comfortably, and repeat with the other leg. You can do this as you brush your teeth.
5. Wall-sit This exercise is great to strengthen your legs and core, and you can do it in just 45 seconds to 1 minute, using the bathroom wall as equipment. Sit with the support of the wall, imagining a chair below you, and hold for 30 seconds-1 minute.
