Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, who courted controversy with her "Mumbai feels like PoK" remark, drew support from several political leaders and film fraternity after part of her Mumbai office was razed by the BMC. She, however, now faces a defamation charge for using "foul" language against Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

The Mumbai Police has received an official letter from the Maharashtra government asking police to inquire into the issue regarding Kangana Ranaut allegedly using banned substances and narcotics. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had raised the issue regarding interview of Adhyayan Suman where he alleged that Kangana consumed cocaine.

The Mumbai Police has been asked to look into the issue. They are examining the letter and are yet to act further on it. The Mumbai police are yet to take a decision whether the issue will be probed by a special investigation team or the anti-narcotics cell of Mumbai police.

Union Minister Ramdas Athavale reached Governor's house over Kangana Ranaut's issue. He demanded compensation for Kangana for the losses caused due to demolition.

On Thursday, Ramdas Athawale met Kangana Ranaut, who has been at the centre of a controversy over her remarks on Mumbai and its police, and said she need not be afraid while in the city.
