Russia accepts Indias request, wont supply arms to Pakistan

Moscow, 4-Sep-2020

In a big win for India, Russia has accepted the countrys request and said that it will continue with its policy of not supplying arms to Pakistan. The reiteration of Russias policy was made during visiting Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singhs meeting with his counterpart Gen Sergey Shoigu in Moscow Thursday evening.
Russia reiterated its policy of no arms supply to Pakistan, following Indias request, sources were quoted as saying by news agency. The Ministry of Defence earlier stated that the meeting between Rajnath Singh and Gen Shoigu lasted for about one hour. It was held at the Russian Ministry of Defence in Moscow.
The meeting covered a broad range of areas of cooperation between the two countries, the MoD stated. The two ministers held talks on strengthening defence and strategic cooperation between both the friendly nations. "Excellent meeting with the Russian Defence Minister General Sergey Shoigu in Moscow today. We talked about a wide range of issues, particularly how to deepen defence and strategic cooperation between both the countries," Rajnath Singh had tweeted post his meeting. The Defence Minister had earlier arrived in Moscow on a three-day visit to take part in the combined meeting of Defence Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). Also in Moscow, Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar held deliberations with Dmitry Shugaev, Director, Federal Service of Military-Technical Cooperation, Russia. The Russian Embassy in India tweeted that the Russian Defence Minister highlighted colossal potential of collaboration between Russia and India during his meeting with his Indian counterpart. "Military and military and technical cooperation were discussed," the embassy said.
