L-G inaugurates 20 projects in Pulwama

Lt-Governor Manoj Sinha visited Pulwama district in south Kashmir and inaugurated 20 development projects worth Rs 40.86 crore and laid the foundation stone for seven projects of public importance worth Rs 13.47 crore. An official statement said the visit was a part of the continuous development review and public outreach programme for taking a first-hand appraisal of the issues pertaining to people and making an overall assessment of the development needs of the district. The L-G also chaired a meeting to review the development scenario in the district. Dr Raghav Langer, District Development Commissioner, briefed the L-G about the governance and public delivery system, besides the status of the ongoing development projects, implementation of welfare schemes, scenario of health, education, agriculture, horticulture, R&B, PHE, irrigation and flood control, rural development department, social welfare and other sectors. The L-G impressed upon the officers to remain connected with the people and inculcate team spirit and cohesiveness in the public delivery system and remain sensitive to the issues of the people. Delegations of the block development council and urban local bodies representatives, panches and sarpanches, representatives of political parties, delegations of saffron growers, fruit growers and vegetable growers, civil society members and representatives from the Gujjar and Bakerwal community were among others who met the L-G on the occasion.
