A J&K Police sub-inspector (SI) was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau while accepting a bribe from a truck driver. The ACB said a truck driver had parked his truck near Batamaloo, Srinagar, and a SI, identified as Farooq Ahmad Abassi, asked him to produce documents of the vehicle. �The complainant showed the relevant documents, but the said SI instead demanded a bribe of Rs 3,000 to return the documents. Meanwhile, the complainant approached the ACB, Srinagar, and a case was registered. A trap was laid near Batamaloo and the SI was arrested while receiving the bribe,� the ACB spokesman said. After obtaining the police remand, the accused has been shifted to Shaheed Gunj police station, Srinagar.
