On August 14, sources from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probing the case related to the embezzlement of Rs 15 crore from Sushant Singh Rajput's accounts said that the late actor was paying installments for a flat worth Rs 4.5 crore located in Malad, Mumbai. Sources revealed that the flat is allegedly the one occupied by actress Ankita Lokhande. However, Ankita Lokhande late on Friday night cleared on Twitter that she was paying her EMIs and Sushant never paid for her flat. In a series of tweets, Ankita Lokhande shared her flat's registration documents and her bank statements to prove that she was paying the EMIs of the said flat. She wrote, "Here I cease all the speculations. As transparent as I could. My Flat's Registration as well as my Bank Statement's (01/01/19 to 01/03/20) highlighting the emi's being deducted from my account on a monthly basis. There is nothing more I have to say (sic)." On Friday, ED sources revealed that EMI of a flat where Sushant Singh Rajput's friend and actress Ankita Lokhande used to stay, was deducted from Sushant's bank account. This flat is registered in Sushant's name. However, it seems there was some confusion regarding the flats owned by Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande. The Kai Po Che actor bought flat no. 403, while Ankita Lokhande bought 404. Sushant was paying for the EMIs for his flat, while Ankita was paying for hers, as is clear from the bank statements and flat registration papers shared by the actress. Earlier, the ED sources had revealed that Rhea Chakraborty, during the questioning, had said Sushant couldn't ask Ankita to vacate the property even though he was paying installments for it. Sources said that the agency could call for the property details to verify the investment and registration details of the flat. Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande were in a live-in relationship for years before they called it quits in 2016. They first met on the sets of Ekta Kapoor's TV show Pavitra Rishta. The couple was one of the most loved couples on Indian television. After Pavitra Rishta, Sushant went on to realise his Bollywood dream and made his debut with Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che. He later worked in several acclaimed films like Shuddh Desi Romance, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Sonchiriya, Chhichhore, and Dil Bechara, his last film. Ankita Lokhande also headed towards Bollywood and made her debut in Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which was released in 2019. She was later seen in Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor's Baaghi 3 opposite Riteish Deshmukh.
