Gulab Singh statue at Kunjwani Chowk demanded

Jammu | 29 July 2020

Shri Rastriya Rajput Kerni Sena demands for installation of the statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh at Kunjwani crossing on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway. President SRRKS, Raghuvir Singh opposed the action of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on the plea that Rotary Kunjwani is under the control of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and not under the control of JMC.
Being founder Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir State, it is a matter of obligation on part of the present government, and the people that Maharaja is given due recognition of his contributions, he said.
The former Chief Minister of J&K, Dr Farooq Abdhulla, he said, had already announced Kunjwani Chowk Jammu as the site for the statue. He said that sign board was erected at the site by the Sabha, he added.
Due to widening of road by the NHAI, he said, the sign board was removed with assurance that the site for the statue of late Maharaja Gulab Singh shall be provided at the Kunjwani Chowk. He warned the administration not to create controversy and if soon the statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh will not be installed at Kunjwani Chowk Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni sena will hold massive protests all over India.
