Hitting hard the BJP and its J&K leadership for cheating the people of Jammu, former Minister, and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla on Wednesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lost the moral right to go to Jammu people after betrayal after betrayal.

Stating that BJP has cheated people of Jammu, Bhalla accused the Union Government of reducing the status of people of the region to fourth-class citizens even when they voted the party to power in Assembly and Parliamentary polls.

This was stated by former Minister while interacting with prominent persons of Trikuta Nagar Extension, Ward-55 who approached him with resentment over the latest anti-people decisions of BJP Govt in J&K.

The honor of people of Jammu has been compromised and downgraded by the leaders who claimed to be the champion of their cause in the region. BJP climbed the political ladder raising voice against discrimination with people of this region. They ended up doing some disparity with the people who voted them to power to rule the country, said Bhalla.

Right of our youth on government jobs has been snatched and given to outsiders despite knowing how our youth get an education in troubling times of terrorism and frequent border disturbance in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.

Coming down heavily on BJP leadership for indulging in misinformation campaigns against Congress, Bhalla pointed out that Who provided basic facilities to the people since Independence? Who raised such a vast infrastructure like Hospitals, Government buildings? Who laid Rail lines? Which party ensured Air Services across the country and abroad? Who brought Green Revolution in the Country? Who brought IT revolution? It is all due to the concerted efforts of great leaders like Prime Ministers Jawahar Lal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Manmohan Singh that India is on the path of prosperity.

What BJP is doing? It is just inaugurating the mega projects which were built and completed by Congress Party, pointed out Bhalla and further added In Jammu and Kashmir also we initiated big infrastructure projects in J&K. You see hospitals, road connectivity, schools, degree colleges, university campuses, medical colleges, widening of Jammu-Srinagar national highway, numerous drinking water supply schemes, power supply to all almost every village and remote belt of the state. It is not BJP but tireless efforts of Congress Party that the people of the J&K are on the path of development and prosperity.

Firing a salvo on the BJP leadership, Bhalla said Jammu people are now realizing their mistake committed in 2014 and 2019 as these people who were sent by the voters to raise their voice, kept mum and the public voice remained unheard for six long years.

It is hoped that the people of Jammu will surely correct the past mistake and reject such opportunists and exploiters and show them their place in the future elections, he hoped.

Bhalla expressed great resentment over the cancellation of Shri Amarnath Yatra this year saying that the Yatra has been both a way of earning revenue for the locals for offering services to the pilgrims and also making a living out of it.

Strongly condemning the Union Government for installing additional Toll Plaza on the National Highway at Lakhanpur, Bhalla appealed the Government not to make Jammu city of Toll Plazas.

Describing the Governments move as fatal for the tourism industry, Bhalla said that the economy of J&K is completely dependent on religious tourism and these taxes will also affect the pocket of these tourists.
