Charas worth Rs 2.3 cr recovered, driver arrested

The sleuths of Jammu and Kashmir Anti Narcotics Task Force on Thursday recovered a major haul of cannabis (charas) worth Rs 2.3 crore and arrested a truck driver in Sidhra area here on city outskirts.
SSP ANTF Vinay Sharma here said that on specific information that a consignment of narcotics is going from Kashmir to Punjab in a truck, a naka was laid near Batra Hospital this afternoon.
During naka, a truck (PB 13AF-1240) was intercepted and when frisked, huge consignment of 'charas' was recovered, which was concealed in a specially fabricated cavity in the truck.
