In a classic win-win arrangement, North Indias leading private university, IECU has signed MoUs with top corporate to provide training for its engineering students on their shop floor within their industrial complex.
Some of the big names with which IEC University has signed this arrangement includes Honda, Okinawa, ARB Bearings, and IBM.
Right from the first year of engineering course, students will be sent to these companies to train and get a first-hand experience of the actual working in an international industrial setting. This will help students become industry ready and gain competitive advantage by the time they get their degree, while HR heads of these corporate will have a ready pool of talent to fill in their vacancies.
This win-win arrangement will benefit both the companies as well as IECU students. Companies will be able to identify and train future talent pool whom they can readily employ while students will get the real and much needed practical exposure which is so very important to become a successful professional, said Dr Abhay Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of IEC University.
The location advantage of IECU and its deep ingrained culture of long-term relationship has been especially useful in forming this arrangement, added Dr Kumar.
IECUs sprawling main campus is located in north Indias biggest industrial township of Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, very near to Chandigarh. Baddi is home to dozens of large and medium scale national and multinational industrial units.
This latest arrangement is part of IECUs many initiatives to provide students with the most relevant and practical training and to make them industry-ready from an early stage.
Dr. Kumar noted that these kinds of initiatives and training from an early stage has given IECU engineering students significant advantage over others and has resulted in 100% campus placement over the years.
I am extremely happy to share that IECU students have become the preferred HR talent pool for prestigious corporate, said Dr Kumar.
