JAMMU: A delegation of Transport Welfare Association Jammu on Wednesday evening called on the Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan and Transport Commissioner and later on the assurance of administration, decided to postpone their strike, scheduled to be observed on June 4.
The delegation, led by T S Wazir, Chairman Transport Welfare Association Jammu, comprised of representatives from various Transport Associations of Jammu. The delegation raised several issues and problems with officers besides apprising them of various difficulties being faced by the transporters on day to day basis in Jammu region.
“The district administration has assured the delegation for fixing a meeting with higher-ups of concerned department on June 4 (today) ” Wazir said, adding that the Deputy Commissioner Jammu has also assured that she would also attend the meeting to discuss burning issues of transporters with higher-ups besides taking up the same for urgent resolution on priority. The next course of action would be announced after tomorrow’s meeting, Wazir added.
