According to a circular issued by Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Financial Commissioner (Finance) J&K, all the drawing and disbursing officers of J&K Union Territory have been directed to deduct an amount equal to one day’s basic salary of every Government employee of J&K Union Territory for the month of March 2020 on voluntary basis.

The amount deducted shall be credited into the Account titled ‘J&K Relief Fund’, bearing Account Number: 0110010100000016, J&K Bank Moving Secretariat, with IFSC Code JAKA0MOVING and MICR Code 190051062.

“Various Employees Organisations and Associations have expressed desire to contribute one day’s salary towards relief fund in view of COVID-19 pandemic. It is, therefore enjoined upon all the drawing and disbursing officers of J&K Union Territory that an amount equal to one day’s basic salary of every employee may be deducted from the salary for a month of March, 2020 on voluntary basis,” said the circular.
“However, the employees shall be free to donate in excess of one day’s basic salary, if they wish so,” the circular added.
