Delhi to host Garden Tourism Festival in Garden of Five Senses

Delhi is hosting a spring flower show from today to create awareness about the environment among the people. The 22 ac Garden of Five Senses in Saidulajab, Saket, is all geared up to showcase and host Delhi Tourism’s much-awaited show, the Garden Tourism Festival.

This will be the 33rd edition of the festival, which Delhi Tourism is organizing in collaboration with the Delhi Government. This year’s theme is Green Balcony, #Green Delhi that focuses on the importance of gardening in balconies, as the pollution level is rising in the urban areas. Referring to this, Delhi Tourism Chief Manager Sudhir Sobti said the said concept makes the best use of space and significantly adds to the city’s wellbeing and aesthetics. He further adds that the festival will bring together various elements, which will encourage people to create beautiful home gardens.

Those visiting the Garden of Five Senses will be greeted with an ambiance that will be brightened by several potted plants, roses, bougainvillea, dahlias, floral animals, foliage, and much more. One will also be able to find herbal and medicinal plants, stalls selling plants, hanging baskets, seeds, and many more things related to gardening.

A number of well-known horticulture and floriculture societies, plant nurseries, seed sellers, and horticulture suppliers, from Delhi/NCR, will be coming together on one platform to participate in this festival. Apart from the variety of flora, the festival will exhibit a large variety of exclusive as well as seasonal flowers, and will also exhibit special themed gardens that have been developed by various civic and government agencies, business houses, as well as private organizations.

Competitions will also be held under various categories, and cultural programs will be hosted in the evening. The festival will continue till March 1, 2020, and is definitely not to be missed.
