Former MLA and brain behind third party front, Syed Altaf Bukhari on Friday said that all the formal arrangements are made and the announcement of new party will take place in coming two to three days.

Bukhari who was Member of Legislative Assembly from Amira Kadal and member of Peoples of Democratic Party made the statement. The formation of the party comes at a time when former Chief Ministers and MLAs are either slapped with Public Safety Act or detained at several places. While as earlier last month, former eight legislators delegation led by Syed Altaf Bukhari met Lieutenant Governor G.C Murmu and had submitted a 15-page point memorandum demanding rights of people over land and jobs are safeguard, detainees are released and cases against youth be withdrawn among others.

Bukhari while taking to sources, “In coming three to four days either on 23, 24 or 25th February, we will approve the constitution and once it is adopted then we will set the ball rolling for formal registration of party and thereafter we will make an announcement”.

He added, the party that is coming into formation and I want to make it clear that party that is going to be launched will be all about people’s party. The party’s agenda is all about, “by common people, for common people, and of the common people”. And, it won’t function like any other mainstream party as it will be called as “Apni Party”.

“The party will not be restricted to certain sections; it will be a broader party, everyone is welcomed”, Bukhari added.

He added that once the party is made people will come to know who is with us and believe me the party has ample number of support from all the sections of the society from young to old blood and experienced ones. There are good numbers of people who have joined hands and been the first ones to file to be the part of the common man’s party.

"And, for the first time in the history, that there is unanimity in agenda from both Jammu and Kashmir. There is a common agenda as Jammu wants domicile in jobs and land, while Kashmir wants the same. Moreover, both Jammu and Kashmir wants development in every sector and economic booster”, Bukhari asserted.

He added unlike in last 70 years, Kashmir wanted autonomy and self-rule and they were not supported but at this point, there is nothing like that. Both Jammu and Kashmir want statehood and it is the first time both the regions have the same agenda and that is why he has got support from both the region of Jammu and Kashmir.

Bukhari further said, "And, once the party is launched in Srinagar it won’t be limited to Kashmir only we will launch the party in Jammu as well and we are looking forward to it as we have support from both the regions".
