Tamil Nadu Deputy CM and Finance Minister O Panneerselvam said in the state assembly that the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the corona virus epidemic a public health emergency. He said that in line with national guidelines, the Tamil Nadu government has further strengthened surveillance and control measures against it.

Panneerselvam said the government had procured and stored personal protective equipment kits, masks and triple-layer masks in sufficient quantities, adding that necessary funds would be provided for preparations and preventive measures.

111 suspected patients of corona virus in Himachal Pradesh

There are suspected cases of corona virus in Himachal Pradesh. State Health and Family Welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar said that in Himachal Pradesh 111 people are still being tested for corono virus while 46 people have been kept on 28 days inspection.

The virus has spread from Hubei's capital Wuhan to nearly 30 countries around the world, including China. In Hubei, with a population of six crore, there has been a halt for the last three weeks.

Indian and Pakistani students pleaded

Indian and Pakistani students living in Wuhan are scared. They have appealed to the governments of their country to be evacuated from Wuhan. India has already evacuated 647 of its citizens from Wuhan. Indian officials say about 100 Indians may still be left. While about one thousand Pakistani students are being reported in Hubei. However, the government of Pakistan is facing criticism for not evacuating its citizens.
