Preparation for establishment of Industrial Area in Jammu Kashmir

The state administration took a major decision on Wednesday to set up industrial zones in Jammu and Kashmir, setting up new factories and creating new employment opportunities for the local youth. The Administrative Council has approved the transfer of 13,665 Kanal of government land to the Industries Department for the establishment of industrial areas in 10 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. This will help in preparing a land bank for setting up the factory.

The decision to transfer land for the industrial area was taken at a meeting of the Administrative Council headed by Lt Governor GC Murmu. The concerned officials informed that 13,665 Kanal government land has been transferred to the concerned department for setting up industrial areas at places identified in Udhampur, Kulgam, Kupwara, Anantnag, Baramulla, Bandipora, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, and Pulwama. Officials said that all necessary steps are being taken to make Jammu and Kashmir fully distinguished on the industrial map of the country and to highlight the possibilities available in various fields here.

In this context, it has also been decided to organize a Global Investors Summit in Jammu and Kashmir. This conference is proposed in April.

Land was given to build the college: In the meeting of the Administrative Council, 88 Kanal nau marla land has been transferred to Higher Education Department for raising necessary infrastructure and other facilities for the establishment of Government Degree College in Bommai (Baramulla), North Kashmir. This land is in Edipora Bommai.
