CCTV cameras will be installed on Jammu-Srinagar highway

CCTV cameras will be installed in busy areas of the susceptible Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in terms of security. The Ministry of Home Affairs will do this work. This decision has been taken after the terror attack on Ban toll plaza of Nagrota last Friday. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also given instructions to the Jammu and Kashmir Police to mark the appropriate location for putting cameras on the national highway.

Police headquarters will soon form a committee to identify the places where the cameras are to be installed. The Central Government will bear all the expenses of installing the cameras. The NIA team arrived to investigate the case after the encounter with three Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists at Nagrota Ban Toll on Friday, the Home Ministry has to install CCTV cameras to monitor the 300 km long Jammu Srinagar National Highway Has suggested. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has been asked to install CCTV cameras on the national highway soon.

Earlier attacks on highway
There have been many terrorist attacks on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the past. Apart from this, IEDs have also been recovered. In the coming days, CCTV cameras will play an important role along with surveillance of the soldiers on the national highway in view of the threat of terrorist attacks. Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh has also said to tighten security arrangements on Jammu Srinagar National Highway.
