On the Republic Day, the statement of the Deputy Governor of Jammu and Kashmir GC Murmu has created a political fire. He had said that Jammu and Kashmir has joined India only after the end of Article 370. Calling it objectionable, People's Democratic Party (PDP) Rajya Sabha MP Fayyaz Ahmad Mir asked if Jammu and Kashmir was not a part of India before August 5, 2019. Does the Lt. Governor want to say that we were Pakistanis earlier?

Fayaz, a Rajya Sabha MP from North Kashmir, said that in the last 70 years, we have made innumerable sacrifices. Our people, our elders have fought on behalf of Hindustan. Whenever Hindustan has fought with Pakistan, our people have stood with Hindustan against Pakistan. What does the Lt. Governor want to say, what does he want to prove that he has said this? He said that the statement of the Lieutenant Governor is inappropriate. After his statement, the question arises whether we were Pakistanis before the end of Article 370? What has changed here, till last year the Governor used to be here and today the Lieutenant Governor is here? Earlier Jammu and Kashmir was a full-fledged state which is now a Union Territory, it has just changed. But our Lieutenant Governor says that Jammu and Kashmir have now become fully part of India. Does his statement imply that Jammu and Kashmir was not with India till now? Demand for release of leaders

MP Fayaz said that after the formation of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the local people are facing many problems. No concrete steps are being taken to solve these problems. He knows the difficulty that people are facing. The situation in Jammu and Kashmir is claimed to be normal, but political leaders have been kept closed, they are not being released. If the situation is normal then why are political leaders not released? Earlier he used to say that he would not talk to separatists, but today he is not ready to communicate with mainstream leaders. Need to speed up development work

The Rajya Sabha MP said that there is a need to speed up development works in Jammu and Kashmir. The administrative system should be made strong, diligent, competent and transparent. There should not be any kind of politics in development and administrative issues.
