Even after being declared a Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, PHE provisional personnel, who have been demanding that permanent appointment, the release of arrears, have announced to go on a two-day work strike from 7 February.

Not only this, but the permanent employees of the PHE department standing in support of temporary personnel have also announced their full support to make this movement successful. PHE Employees United Front, a joint forum of permanent and temporary personnel, decided on Tuesday after going to various divisions and consulting the personnel. The Front announced that the personnel would leave no stone unturned to make the movement a success. The supply of water will also be affected due to the strike.

Front leader Subhash Verma said that the PHE department, which is facing shortage of field staff, is getting regular work from casual and need-based personnel, but they are not being paid. To the extent that the SRO-520 was announced by the previous government to provide relief to this personnel serving the department for 25 years, the personnel is not getting their benefits. The Central Government also repeatedly claims that the problems of employees, people will be removed if they come under the center, but even after more than five months, PHE remains the condition of temporary workers.

Far from starting the process of making these workers permanent, they are still not getting regular salary under the Minimum Wages Act. The conditions are still the same as before. Due to a lack of regular salary, it has become difficult for these workers to maintain the family.

At the same time, Kartar Chand Dubey said that several attempts were made to meet the Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu to make the administration aware of this situation of the workers, but they too showed no seriousness. He did not even give an appointment. This is the reason that there has been increased anger among the workers. Angry workers say that now they have no other way but to raise their voice to the administration's ears. Front members Devendra Singh, Balwinder Raj, Bhanu Pratap, Manzoor Ali, Navdeep Singh, Mitul Sharma, Kulbhushan Nanda, Jagdish Kumar and Rajesh Jamwal appealed all the personnel to make the movement successful.

He said that neither permanent workers nor temporary workers will work during this two-day work-out strike. During this time, if people have to face water shortage, then the responsibility will be on the government.
