Twitter launches Tricolor India Gate emoji to celebrate 71st Republic Day

As the nation gears up to celebrate the 71st Republic Day, to mark this momentous occasion, Twitter India has launched a custom emoji, called the Tricolor India Gate.

The specially designed emoji depicts the India Gate lit up in Tricolor, paying homage to the grand occasion of Republic Day Parade in the country’s capital; New Delhi.

In fact, the Office of the President of India Ramnath Kovind @rashtrapatibhvn will also be tweeting the emoji on January 25, 2020 during his address to the nation.

For netizens, the emoji will be live until 30th January, 2020 and will be available in English as well as ten Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Urdu and Gurmukhi.

So, when Indians across the globe tweet about the 71st Republic Day from January 25 onwards, they will be celebrating with the emoji. To get the emoji one can use the hashtags, #RepublicDay, #RepublicDayIndia and #RDay71.

As for the other languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Urdu and Gurmukhi, according to Twitter India, one needs to use the hashtags suggested below:

Today, in his pre-Republic Day speech, PM Narendra Modi addressed cadets from the NCC (National Cadet Corps) and NSS (National Service Scheme) in New Delhi. In his address, he talked about the idea behind the Republic Day parade saying, "[As we move towards a new India] we have to ensure that no person, no region is left behind."

This year Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will be attending the Republic Day parade as the chief guest.
