Nine students have achieved 100 percentile (Perfect 100) in the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main) result announced on Friday night. This examination was conducted this month. The Ministry of Human Resource Development said that one of the students achieving 100 percentile is Nishant Aggarwal of Delhi. While eight others have one each from Gujarat and Haryana and two each from Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana.

What is Persetil
Percentile means how many students have you got more numbers from. For example, if your percentile is 60 percent, it means that you have scored more than 60 percent of the candidates.

Percentile is extracted like this
100 x Total number of students scoring less than the highest scoring candidates in a group / Total number of candidates in the group

For example, if a student gets 70 percent marks and the total number of students who score less than 70 percent is 15,000, while the total number of students in the group was 18000, then Persetil will be removed.

100 x15000 / 18000 = 83.33 percent
