Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon on Monday in the face of protests by Opposition members after their notices seeking suspension of business to discuss NPR and NRC were turned down.

As soon as House Chairman Venkaiah Naidu spoke of his decision regarding the notices, the Opposition members began protesting.

Naidu said he was disallowing the notices as members would get “enough opportunity” to voice their opinions during the Motion of Thanks on the address given by President Ram Nath Kovind to a joint sitting of both Houses.
