The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has directed the transport authorities to file a report explaining if there is any policy in vogue on not to allow roadside parking of the vehicles in Srinagar city.

These directions were issued today by a Division Bench of the High Court, headed by Justice Ali Mohammed Magrey, which is hearing public interest litigation about traffic congestion in the city.

In its orders today, the Bench directed the Transport Commissioner to file the report to explain if there is any policy to allow roadside parking of the vehicles, which has been one of the major causes of traffic congestion and jams in Srinagar city.
