Jammu and Kashmir's borders remain peaceful, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, because Pakistan is afraid of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and would not dare to fire.
Shah was speaking at an election rally in support of BJP candidate Murtaza Khan in this border region of the Poonch district of the Union territory.
He praised the BJP-led Centre for eliminating terrorism by putting laptops in the hands of young people instead of guns and stones, and he said that his government would forbid the use of firearms in the Jammu region's hills.
“We will construct more bunkers along the borders for the safety of the people. I wish to bring up the subject of cross-border layoffs during the 1990s. Does cross-border employment exist today?
It is because Pakistan now fears Prime Minister Modi, whereas the previous governments here were afraid of Pakistan. They would not risk firing, but if they did, they would receive a suitable response, according to Shah.
