Rohit Sharma is a reasonable commander who takes great choices under tension and his presence will be vital for India, feels previous all-rounder Yuvraj Singh who wishes to see his "dear companion" win the subtle T20 World Cup one month from now.

Other than arriving at the last of the 50-over World Cup and the WTC last year, India made the elimination rounds of the 2022 T20 World Cup under Rohit's captaincy.

The opener is set to lead the 'Men dressed in Blue' by and by at the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and USA, beginning on June 2.

"(Rohit's presence will be) exceptionally vital. I think we really want a great skipper, a reasonable chief who takes choices well under tension. What's more, he's the one to take them," Yuvraj, who is the T20 World Cup 2024 envoy, told ICC.

The World Cup 2023 last misfortune to Australia saw India's journey for an ICC title stretch to 10 years with their last triumph tracing all the way back to the Bosses Prize in 2013 under the administration of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Yuvraj feels India needs somebody with Rohit's ability to lead the Indian group at the marquee occasion.

"He was the commander when we lost in the (Cricket World Cup) 50-over last (in 2023). He has won five IPL prizes as a chief. I think we really want someone like him to chief India."

Extremely unfortunate English: Yuvraj's initial feeling of Rohit

Yuvraj has seen Rohit's excursion since the 37-year-old made his presentation for the Indian group as a youngster way back in 2007.

Reviewing his initially dazzling of the flashy opener, Yuvraj kidded "Extremely unfortunate English."

"Extremely amusing person. From the roads of Borivali (in Mumbai), we generally bother him. Yet, an extraordinary person on a basic level."

Yuvraj's last season as a functioning cricketer went under Rohit's captaincy at MI.

"The more achievement he's had, he has never showed signs of change personally. That is the magnificence of Rohit Sharma. Carefree, continuously playing around with the folks, an extraordinary pioneer on the recreation area and one of my dearest companions from cricket.

"I truly need to see Rohit Sharma with a World Cup prize and a World Cup decoration. He truly merits it."
