The US is on guard and planning for a potential assault by Iran focusing on Israeli or American resources in the district in light of Israel's strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria, a US official said on Friday.

"We're most certainly at a high condition of carefulness," the authority said in affirming a CNN report that said an assault could come in the following week.

Thought Israeli warplanes bombarded Iran's consulate in Damascus on Monday in a strike that killed an Iranian military officer and denoted a significant heightening in Israel's conflict with its provincial enemies.

Iran's Islamic Progressive Gatekeeper Corps has said that seven Iranian military counsels kicked the bucket in the strike, including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior officer in its Quds Power, which is a tip top unfamiliar surveillance and paramilitary arm.

Iran has said it claims the authority "to take a conclusive reaction."

U.S. President Joe Biden examined the danger from Iran in a call on Thursday with Israeli State leader Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Our groups have been in normal and ceaseless contact from that point forward. The US completely upholds the protection of Israel against dangers from Iran," a senior Biden organization official said.
