Congratulating the ISRO team led by chairman S Somanath for the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, the Congress on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of hypocrisy and pulled him up for grabbing the limelight at the expense of scientists.

"The joy and pride of landing #Chandrayaan3 will remain with us for a long time. The leadership of ISRO chairman Dr Somanath has truly created history and we heartily congratulate him and his team," Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal said in a message on X (ex-Twitter). ) today.

The Congress leader, however, added that the prime minister must answer to some of his "hypocrisies".

"You appeared quickly on the screen after landing and took credit, but why has your government failed so miserably in supporting scientists and ISRO?" asked Venugopal.
