Bengaluru's Namma Metro has been drawing flak after two of a family died as an under-construction pillar came crashing down on them on Wednesday. A woman and her 2.5-year-old son died after a metro railway pillar that was being constructed on the road from Kalyan Nagar to HRBR Layout collapsed on the road. As per sources, It has learnt that Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials were made aware of the looming danger but they allegedly ignored the repeated warnings. They were informed via emails about issues pertaining to construction and quality of civil work many times in the past.
As per sources, Several emails and letters were sent to BMRCL officials, who allegedly did not take any action and the unfortunate accident claimed two lives in the Silicon Valley of India.

I have warned the BMRCL officials several times, written letters and emails about the quality of work at metro construction sites. A person has died a couple of years ago and BMRCL covered it up and the engineers managed to escape the law. he added, highlighting no justice for victims of civic apathy. The trinity circle incident in connection to the metro pillar should have been a wake-up call. Meanwhile, BMRCL managing director Anjum Parwez said they will ask the Indian Institute of Science to conduct a study to find out the reason for the reinforcement structure made of iron rods collapsing at HBR Layout on Outer Ring Road. Speaking to reporters at the accident spot. All safety precautions were taken but in spite of that, the accident happened. We have to do a detailed investigation. IISc will be roped in to study the structure and give a report to BMRCL on what went wrong. We don’t want allegations of bias by doing an internal investigation.
