Maharashtra: Over 500 shops gutted in fire at Fashion Street market in Pune, no casualty reported

More than 500 shops have been gutted in a fire that broke out at a market in Maharashtra's Pune last night, the officials said on Saturday. Around 16 fire tenders and two water tankers doused the fire at the site, according to the fire department. "Around 16 fire tenders and two water tankers are present here. At around 1:06 am, the fire was brought under control. A cooling operation is on. As many as 60 fire officials including 10 officers are at the spot," Chief Fire Officer of Pune Municipal Corporation as saying. "Fire has been controlled. No casualty has been reported so far but the heavy loss to the hawkers and shop owners as their shops were gutted in fire," he added. The fire had broken out at the Fashion Street market in the Camp area of Pune on late Friday night.
