Community transmission in Kerala: CM

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan has said community transmission of Covid-19 has been detected in two coastal hamlets in Thiruvananthapuram.
More than 150 cases have been reported each in Poonthura and Pulluvila. The CM made the announcement on a day when 791 new cases were reported in the state, taking the total to 11,066. Of these, 6,029 are active cases. Vijayan said an �unprecedented situation� is prevailing in the coastal areas of the state capital.
All steps are being taken to prevent the community spread from reaching new areas, the CM assured, and added that a total lockdown will be enforced in these areas from Saturday. The movement of people within these areas will be restricted. Testing has been increased in both the hamlets after 112 cases were detected there on Friday alone.
