With lockdown 4.0 just around the corner, India’s flag carrier airline Air India is likely to operate special domestic flights from different cities between May 19 and June 2. This is in line with opening up of railway services to help ferry people stranded across the country. This move is also likely to help around 15,000 Indians returning from abroad to reach their home states via domestic routes. Though the plan is yet to receive an official nod, domestic movement of passengers can be seen as a part of the phase 2 of evacuation flights to bring Indians from abroad.
Majority of the flights are from Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru among other major cities. Individuals will have to book tickets through the airlines website after an official notification is released.
