Night curfew imposed in J&K

The administration has imposed night curfew in Jammu and Kashmir, as 25 persons tested positive for coronavirus on Monday, taking the total caseload in the UT to 726. In J&K, 25 new positive cases have been reported 1 from Jammu and 24 from Kashmir. The authorities have prohibited public movement across the UT, irrespective of the categorization of the districts, until further orders. Prohibitions on movement in all areas between 7 PM and 7 AM. No movement without passes. Medical emergencies exempted, government spokesperson Rohit Kansal tweeted. A majority of the fresh cases, 12, were reported from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, which has emerged as an infection hotspot in the recent days. Authorities have now shifted the coronavirus positive patients from District Hospital, which is the main healthcare facility in Baramulla, to the newly established 100-bed Covid wellness centre. Rest of the cases were reported from Budgam- 4, Srinagar - 3, Shopian and Bandipora- 2 each, and Pulwama and Jammu- 1 each. One of the three patients who tested positive from Srinagar is an attendant of a patient of Poonch district, admitted in a Srinagar hospital. Of the total 726 cases, Kashmir has reported 664, while 62 cases are from Jammu Division.
