The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has sought the personal appearance of the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, if the report about the locations and construction of the public toilets is not filed on the next date of hearing.
The directions have been issued by a division bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur. The bench is hearing a public interest litigation over the removal of the public toilets constructed along the banks of the Jhelum.
In its earlier directions, the High Court had ordered that the public toilets, which were in close proximity to water bodies be dismantled.
