The Class XII annual board exam of the summer zone commenced in the Jammu province on Thursday. The first examination was held in the language papers for the science, arts and commerce streams.

As many as 33,741 candidates are appearing in the Class XII exam, being held by the J&K Board of School Education examination at 316 centres across the Jammu region.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made at the exam centres and policemen have been deployed outside the halls to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.
